About Karen

I became interested in counselling when working as a midwife in the antenatal clinic. Feedback from the parentcraft classes I facilitated and when supporting parents during pregnancy following a previous traumatic pregnancy or delivery, led me to start my counselling training.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Level 3 Senior Professional Member of ACTO.

Karen Frodsham

After completing a European Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (2000), I continued to work in the antenatal clinic, in a dual role of midwife and counsellor. A year later I was working as a counsellor in a GP practice, where I stayed for 17 happy years. In 2017, I decided to expand my private practice, after leaving the NHS.

During the global health pandemic in 2020 I completed formal training to work online both as a counsellor and supervisor. As a result of changing circumstances at home, enjoying working online and the pandemic lasting longer than anticipated, I made the decision to work exclusively online.
